What a kick start to the New Year!! 2 magazine covers and 2 beauty spreads in 2 different magazines!! I don’t think it’ll get any better than this after this month!
Shape January 2008. Love how they tanned me up in this picture!!
Uncovered….. The swimsuit they got me to wear is really cute but unfortunately we can’t be that bold here in Malaysia and show too much skin…hehehe….but honestly, I don’t think I’d dare to shoot in this swimsuit if I didn’t have the shirt on either!!
I like this picture a lot. Makes me look very grown up, very ‘womanly’! I loved all the pictures actually! And the article was very well written as well.
You know, I have a confession to make. I feel very embarassed everytime I walk by a newagency or flip a magazine and see myself on it. (Not like I have a lot of covers la….) I feel like it’s so narcissistic of me to be looking at myself and reading my own interview and what will people say or do if they recognise that it’s me?! Like the other day, at the hairdressers, a girl who was seated behind me (I could see her reflection from the mirror) was reading this issue of Shape and I suddenly just blushed and wanted to hide, in fear of her recognising me. I wonder if this is normal? I wonder what the popular Malaysian covergirls do when they walk by a huge poster of their face in front of a magazine…..I should go ask Stephanie or Hannah, I think.
My other cover is for Health and Beauty, and I share the cover with Natasha Hudson’s younger sister, Tania Hudson. I haven’t gotten the magazine yet, might get someone else to buy it for me…hehehe…
I did a couple of Beauty shoots for Chinese magazines end of last year and they’re all out this month!! Stevensunny made me up for NuYou’s Beauty Class and these next few pictures are from iFeel magazine’s BeautiFeel. The theme was pink!
I’ve been featured in iFeel a couple of times and I really like the art direction of their magazine. It’s a shame that I don’t read Chinese, otherwise, it’ll be one my favourite magazines, next to Female and Hot! So anyways, if you want to see more of all that, you can get all those magazines I’ve mentioned at a newsagency near you now!
Moving backwards a bit, in the final weeks of December 2007, I played tour guide to some visitors from Australia. My old Uni mate Matt and a bunch of his church friends stopped by KL on the way back from Central Asia. They were volunteering in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, teaching kids English and spreading the word of God. They are such a wonderful bunch of people and I have so much respect for all of them for taking that step towards helping others.
With Matt, whom I haven’t seen since I left Uni 2 years ago. He’s currently working admin at UNSW so if you ever plan to go to that university, just look him up and he’ll be able to give you all the neccessary advice and help you to get started with your Uni life!!
Joe and I with 6 of the 9 people who went on the volunteering trip.
I also went back to Miri one of those weekends back in December to attend my cousin, Basil’s wedding reception. We studied together in Sydney and he’s now working and living there permanently.
Joe and I with Basil and Kathy, the newlyweds. I look so pale standing in between the 2 ‘flushed’ men.
All my pretty cousins in a row!
Dad, with my niece Sara and my cousin Adrian. She’s looks like a doll!! So cute with her big round eyes! Only allows men wearing specs (like her daddy) to carry her.
I’ve been feeling a bit disheartened and discouraged lately and I went in search of some ‘pick-me-up’ quotes. And I found this one, which I thought was very empowering, especially for me and for the state that I’m in now. Maybe it might be inspirational to you too!
“People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People who really want help may attack you if you help them. Help them anyway. Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt. Give the world your best anyway.” Mother Teresa
Have a great new year people and be safe!
Bel

a huge attribute to your ‘attractiveness’ is your smile……really…..
mother teresa was great, wasnt she……and that is one of my favorite-st quotes ever!!
cheers!
Hi babe!
Just one thing to say after I read this post: YOU ARE LIKE MADONNA.
You can be cute, matured, young, elegant, serious, playful, friendly and beautiful – the way you are able to change roles and still looks good is like Madonna. Really cool.
Great that 2008 started well for you. I wish it started well for me too except that I got into an accident and all those kinda stuff. Guess it’s just the beginning of something new.
well…nice cover photo it look so hotttt……
great job, congrats. HK’s pop/idol/star scene is quite something. I never been to Malaysia so i dunno how they compare but I reckon you could be a big hit there too!
Hey Bel…. seems like you’re doing well!
Happy new year!!
Good to hear you’re good! ehehe
Catch up soon yeah!
hello bel 🙂
would like to know whether the raspberry night sleeping mask actually works or it’s just an ad from u :p
Thanks!
don’t take this the wrong way, but you kind of look the same in the shape magazine. the expression is the same in all 3 photos. i had to look at the outfit to gather the differences.but other than that, looking good.
Love the quote. Love Mother Teresa.
‘I don’t think I’d dare to shoot in this swimsuit if I didn’t have the shirt on either.’ And you say you were a swimmer, or so I heard.
