There is only one God

I am a Catholic, I was born into this religion. I may not be a devout or practicing Catholic but I do believe in God and to me, that’s what matters. The events which happened on Friday got me really unsettled, I couldn’t really sleep, and it just so happened that I was 2 days into reading Mitch Albom’s latest non-fiction – Have A Little Faith. The book is a true story about the author being asked to write a eulogy for his Rabbi, and in the process he learned a lot about faith and the simplicity in believing that there is something out there that’s bigger than all of us.

I thought it was a great read and I cried and laughed and cried again until I finished the book at 4am in the morning. It was an easy book to understand although we all know, we seldom get straightforward answers to questions about faith. Yet, his Rabbi’s answer to all of life’s questions were simple and they made perfect sense.

The last few sentences of the book resonated in me and I think it is really relatable to all of us right now.

“God sings, we hum along, and there are many melodies, bit it’s all one song – one same, wonderful, human song.” – Mitch Albom

Just forget about all the different definitions of your God or my God, because He is one and He is our only Creator. Peace and Love people!

Love, Bel

Yeah, I was troubled too. Couldn’t sleep.. so was calling up friends of the same faith to gather and pray for our nation. It’s a shame that something as childish as this could take place… and as God’s people, we can only pray and forgive.

the pen is indeed mightier than the sword. just one word and the country falls into a chaos. but this is what i think. if one’s faith is strong, how can one word possibly sway you away? sigh. so much for 1Malaysia huh.

You hit it right on the spot Bel, if only all could put their differences aside, this world could be a better place to live…..but sadly, this is not the case as there are too many selfish people around only wanting to enrich themselves at the expense of others.

Politics and religion should not mix, see what a mess Msia is in now…a laughing stock to the world. The harder question to answer now is, where to we go from here after 52 years?
